In my work, I am illustrating how a moment felt to me and I want to make a connection with the viewer. I use patterns and colors that were around me as I grew up. Wallpaper, posters, clothing designs are all part of the backgrounds of my life.

I like the fact that there can be a shared experience, no matter how seemingly obscure it is. I don't have it in me to go full abstraction. I need something tangible to ground me. I walk the thinnest line of narration and even if it's just a pattern, it's coming from somewhere. It can cause a memory.
